Paying Back with BNZ Android Pay

Porter Novelli was tasked with helping launch BNZ Android Pay in December 2016. Being the first bank to introduce Android Pay in New Zealand, the aim was to raise awareness of the milestone and demonstrate BNZ’s commitment to digital innovations.

To leverage the conversation about Christmas and tie into BNZ’s brand positioning of 'Be Good With Money', Porter Novelli developed a campaign where influential New Zealanders trialled BNZ Android Pay by purchasing gifts for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.

This initiative was named 'BNZ Android Pay Back' and became an integrated campaign across mainstream media, influencer marketing, social media and internal communications. Approximately 60 influencers were brought on board to trial the technology and purchase gifts, and were asked to produce a social post featuring the official hashtag – #BNZAndroidPayBack.
